18/12 Hathaway speaks about her recent breakup
Anne Hathaway split from Raffaello Follieri because of dead flowers. The Rachel Getting Married star realised how different she and her boyfriend of five years were after comparing their different attitudes to some branches of cherry blossom which the actress brought into their home. She explained: “They lasted a month and were beautiful even as they died.” “Raffaello always liked things fancier and perfect and told our maid to throw them out. That was when I knew we saw things differently.” The 26-year-old star told Vogue magazine her break-up from the Italian businessman – who is now serving four years in prison for conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering – was not dramatic. She added: “I was a 21-year-old kid when I met him. It wasn’t a huge, dramatic break-up. We were in the process of winding it down when he was arrested. I don’t talk about this, except when I’m asked. It’s not a part of my life anymore. It’s a complicated situation that has the ability to define me in ways I am not comfortable with.” Despite recently being linked with actor Adam Shulman, Anne admits the thought of dating someone else is strange. While trying on a dress for a Vogue photo shoot she exclaimed: “I can go on a date in this. Oh, my God. That’s such a weird thought!”
15/12 Hathaway’s White Queen: ‘Cute But Psycho’
Watchmen may be the toast of fandom, but as far as films not based on comics, Tim Burton’s live action/stop-motion hybrid Alice in Wonderland is easily one of the most anticipated. To date, the enigmatic director has generated considerable buzz for an inspired casting roster that includes Johnny Depp, Helen Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen, Christopher Lee and, of course, Anne Hathaway. Hathaway plays the White Queen alongside Bonham Carter’s Red Queen, and according to her it’s a role best described by an anecdote. “A friend of mine just gave me a magnet that was a bunny rabbit holding a knife,” she recalled. “It said ‘Cute but psycho, it evens out.’ And that’s kind of my character as the White Queen.” Read the rest of this entry »
12/12 Anne Hathaway’s mother date
Anne Hathaway’s mother will be her date at the Golden Globe Awards. The actress – who is dating actor Adam Shulman – has received a Best Actress nomination for her role in Rachel Getting Married and, despite the ceremony being over a month away, Anne already knows who will escort her down the red carpet. She said: “I already asked my mom if she can come with me. So mommy is going to be my date.” The 26-year-old star was sleeping when the news of her nomination broke and she was disappointed to have missed her parents’ call telling her the great news. Anne – who separated from her long-term boyfriend, the now imprisoned Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri, earlier this year – added to People magazine: “I was asleep and my mother actually called at the same moment as my publicist, so he told me. “I got off the phone with him and called my parents. They were hopping around so happy, just so effusive and lovely. And I felt so bad, they were giving such great advice for how to handle it and I was half-asleep! “I’d had a friend stay over because I needed someone to celebrate with or kind of cry with in the morning. “We made eggs and just kind of danced around in my kitchen. It was kind of perfect, simple and very sweet.” The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards take place on January 11 at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton hotel.
09/12 Date with Anne Hathaway Goes for $12000
Actress Anne Hathaway is dating three new men – after auctioning a night in her company to a trio of eager fans for $12,000 (GBP8,000) The actress offered herself as a prize at the Cracked X-mas Fundraiser in Los Angeles on December 07, and was quickly snapped up by bidders. She announced to the crowd, “I’m not usually very forward, but I thought if there was ever a crowd for me to do something like this, this is my crowd – so I would like to auction myself off, for drinks somewhere fabulous and basically get you totally s**t faced. Tell me what I’m worth.” All the proceeds for the night went to benefit the Trevor Project, a crisis helpline for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual youths.
06/12 Anne Hathaway Has a Talk Show Host Crush!
Anne Hathaway seemed a bit starstruck as she appeared on the “Daily Show” with Jon Stewart on December 02. “By the way I just want everyone to know that all I heard right there was buzz, buzz, buzz — I’m sitting across from Jon Stewart,” Anne says as she arrives on the show. “It’s so cool to be here. It’s amazing.” The giddy actress said everyone she told about her appearance on the show said they had a crush on the talk show host. “Let me tell you what’s underneath this suit,” Jon said sheepishly. “I’m an older gentleman…what they see is a facade.” “Jon, keep the illusion,” Anne begs. “I’m decrepit,” Jon jokes. Anne appeared on the “Daily Show” to promote her Oscar-buzz film Rachel Getting Married, in theatres now.
04/12 Anne Hathaway Named Best Actress!
Anne Hathaway looks like she’s a shoe-in for Oscar contention after today’s news. Her latest film Rachel Getting Married is already get a lot of attention after leading the upcoming Spirit Awards with six nominations, including one for best picture. And today Anne has officially been named Best Actress by the National Board of Review for her role in the film. For those of you unfamiliar, the National Board of Review is is comprised of film historians, film pros and others, and is best known for presenting the first nationally recognized awards of Oscar season. Look out Keira Knightley and Kate WInslet, our own girl next door may be some tough competition in this year’s Oscar race.
