Jackman plans Carousel trip with Hathaway

Hugh Jackman is trying to persuade his Oscars dancing partner Anne Hathaway to join him on the Carousel. The Aussie star has developed a script for the beloved Stephen Sondheim musical and he wants Hathaway to play Julie Jordan opposite his Billy Bigelow. He says, “I’ve been looking to do a musical film for some time and after things like Moulin Rouge!, Chicago and Hairspray, I think there’s a real opportunity there.” And he’s clear only Hathaway will do as his leading lady: “I’ve been filling up her answering machine with messages about Carousel.” Hathaway, who joined Jackman for a song and dance at the Oscars, is about to embark on her own musical journey – she will star in a new theatre and film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland’s life.

Hathaway, Shatner and Bratt lead Prism Awards

Anne Hathaway, William Shatner and Benjamin Bratt were among the winners at the 2009 Prism Awards, honouring Hollywood productions which raise awareness of drug-related issues. The Los Angeles ceremony, which took place on Thursday (April 23), saw Hathaway praised for her role in Rachel Getting Married, in which she played a troubled drug addict. Shatner was honoured for an episode of hit TV show Boston Legal, and Bratt was lauded for a multi-episode storyline on The Cleaner. Several TV shows were also praised for accurate portrayals of mental health and addiction themes, including King of the Hill, Law & Order: SVU, and The Office.

Anne arrives at LAX Airport

Arriving on a flight from New York City, Anne Hathaway was spotted at LAX International Airport on April 15. The Rachel Getting Married hottie looked cool and casual as she made her way through the terminal, sporting a grey jacket over a blue top with black trousers and white shoes. Thanks to GossipGirls!

Hathaway not modelling for Marc Jacobs

Anne Hathaway has not signed up to become the new face of Marc Jacobs. Reports claimed the designer had promised to dress the actress for high-profile events. ‘I’m afraid that is not true,’ a spokesman for Jacobs tells People. ‘Marc and Annie are good friends, but there are no plans of her appearing in our ads.’ Victoria Beckham is his current muse.

Hathaway goes all orange for ‘Bride Wars’

Anne Hathaway, who plays Emma in chick flick Bride Wars, has a scene where she was made orange by Kate Hudson. The actress, who walked the Fifth Avenue with this look, said that wearing the makeup was an awful experience. “It took an hour to put it on and then a lot of scrubbing and scrubbing in the shower to try to get it off again. I don’t want to think about how much water I wasted and sometimes I would scrub so hard I would reveal bone – only joking. But it was just awful,” Hathaway said in a press statement. The actress said she did feel like a “freak” while walking down the street with the colour on her face. “Walking down Fifth Avenue a shade of bright orange was one of the most surreal moments of my life. We did that shoot a la Tootsie and the camera was hidden and so people just thought I was walking down the street completely orange. The cell phone cameras were coming out all around me and I did feel like a bit of a freak but it’s all for art, I guess,” said Hathaway. “There were a few extras who basically walked in a circle around me so that we could do the shot. But for the main part we just had to put up a sign that said ‘hey, hope you like being in a movie, because you’re in one’” she added.
