Quoting Annie
“I gave up my struggle with perfection a long time ago. That is a concept I don't find very interesting anymore. Everyone just wants to look good in the photographs. I think that is where some of the pressure comes from. Be happy. Be yourself, the day is about a lot more.”

Hathaway here to mourn
Actress Anne Hathaway, accompanied by a harpist, sang “Ave Maria” at the Funeral Mass of her paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Ann Gouin, on Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in the city’s Andorra section. Her grandmother, who died August 21 at age 86, lived at Cathedral Village. Hathaway’s father, Jerry, is one of five children. The actress’ mother, Kate McCauley, also grew up in the area and went to Mount St. Joseph Academy and acted in the troupe at La Salle. Anne Hathaway was born in New York and raised in North Jersey, and still pops up in Cape May. Last summer, out with friends, she sang karaoke at Martini Beach. Thanks to Philly.com for this info!
Applegate, Weaver & Hathaway are first ‘Power of Women’ honourees

The ladies have been selected as the industry publication’s Lifetime Impact Honorees for making a significant difference to their chosen causes. Aguilera will be honoured for her work on behalf of World Hunger Relief, Applegate for Right Action for Women, Hathaway for Service Nation and Weaver for The Flea Theater. Ziskin and Lansing will both be honoured on behalf of their organisation, Stand Up 2 Cancer.

Keys, Hathaway and Cruz are Vanity Fair’s best dressed
R&B beauty Alicia Keys, Anne Hathaway and Penelope Cruz have been praised by top fashion publication Vanity Fair after earning mentions on its 2009 International Best-Dressed List. The stunning stars are placed alongside their male counterparts Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig and U.S. president Barack Obama. First Ladies Michelle Obama and singer/model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy, also make the cut. However, Pitt’s partner Angelina Jolie, who frequently tops style polls, was a notable absentee on the magazine’s annual honours list.
Hathaway named best actress under 30
Anne Hathaway has topped an annual list compiled of the best actresses under 30 according to the commercial and critical responses to their performances. The Devil Wears Prada star knocked Keira Knightley off the number one spot, due to her acting in films Rachel Getting Married and Becoming Jane, reports Metro. Editor of LoveFilm.com Helen Cowley said: “This star is seriously on the rise. She has clawed her way to the top of this chart after winning an Oscar nomination for her role in Rachel Getting Married. Our Keira definitely needs to pull her cinematic socks up if she wants to regain the top spot in 2010.” Sienna Miller took tenth place, while Emily Blunt beat Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman to be voted fourth best. Heath Ledger’s ex girlfriend Michelle Williams made a surprise entry at number three.
Hathaway and Jackman re-team for circus musical?
Academy Awards performers Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman are in talks to reteam for another song and dance number – in a forthcoming movie musical about circus showman P.T. Barnum. Oscar host Jackman brought Broadway glamour to the awards show in February, opening the ceremony with an upbeat song-and-dance routine featuring the Get Smart star. Jackman has since signed on with Twentieth Century Fox to play the three-ring circus pioneer in The Greatest Showman on Earth. According to Daily Variety, Hathaway is in talks to play his love interest Jenny Lind – the famed circus singer Barnum dubbed the Swedish Nightingale. British singer-songwriter Mika is reportedly in negotiations to write music and lyrics for the project. Jackman will also produce the film with his Seed Productions partner, John Palermo.
