Quoting Annie
“I gave up my struggle with perfection a long time ago. That is a concept I don't find very interesting anymore. Everyone just wants to look good in the photographs. I think that is where some of the pressure comes from. Be happy. Be yourself, the day is about a lot more.”

Hathaway’s Garland Biopic Worries
Anne Hathaway’s is concerned Judy Garland fans will scream “murder” when she sings in a forthcoming biopic. The Oscar-nominated beauty has been in talks to star as the screen legend – best known for her portrayal of Dorothy in 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz – since early 2009, and believes the “sensitive” nature of her life is what has caused delays, but confirms the current plan is for her to sing. She said: “I certainly don’t sing like Judy Garland but the talk is to have me do the singing. But I think people might cry murder if they don’t get to hear Judy’s beloved voice so the talk is for me to sing but I don’t know if that’s exactly what will happen. “It’s a very sensitive project and there have been so many stories told about her life that we’re really trying to get it right.” The 28-year-old star added the team behind the movie – which is based on Gerald Clarke’s book Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland – are “motivated” but the process has been “endless”. She told BBC Radio 4′s Front Row programme: “We’re taking our time with it. I know it seems like it’s sort of an endless process but it’s very, very slow incremental steps. “I had a meeting about it a couple of weeks ago and we’re all very motivated.”

Hathaway Confirms Dark Knight Rises Competition
Anne Hathaway is in “competition” for a role in The Dark Knight Rises. The Love & Other Drugs actress is believed to be in competition with a number of stars for a leading female role in the movie, including Natalia Portman, Keira Knightley and Blake Lively, and she has confirmed there is a possibility she could be in the forthcoming Christopher Nolan-directed Batman movie. Asked if she felt she was competing for the big roles, with The Dark Knight Rises in particular, she told Deadline.com: “Of course, but that has always been the case. There is always competition. I don’t know how to answer that question, it feels too revealing, somehow.” Anne has been linked to a number of leading roles in superhero films in the past, including the since-scrapped Spider-Man 4 directed by Sam Raimi and a forthcoming Superman movie, although the latter has not been confirmed. Discussing her previous movies, Anne confesses her turn as a journalist in ‘Devil Wears Prada’ alongside Meryl Streep was a tough one as she didn’t feel like she “belonged” on the set. She said: “I never felt like I belonged on ‘Devil’. I remember that the best I felt on that movie came where I got out of Meryl’s way with a little bit of grace. But I never felt in any way like I went toe-to-toe or held my own. It was about trying to just be there, and know when to get out of Meryl’s way.”

Hathaway Attracted To Love And Other Drugs Journey
Anne Hathaway was drawn to the role of a young Parkinson’s Disease sufferer in ‘Love & Other Drugs’ because of the “journey” people go through to accept their diagnosis. The Oscar-nominated actress – who stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the Ed Zwick-directed comedy drama – learnt a lot about how people deal with the disease at “stage one” of diagnosis and was attracted to comments made about Parkinson’s sufferer Michael J. Fox. She said: “Stage one is very much about good days and bad days. And so that kind of, when I spoke to other people they would say, ‘Has she [her character] accepted her diagnosis yet?’ Which led me to believe that there is a whole world of anxiety before you even come to that moment. “Michael J. Fox has very eloquently described his relationship with Parkinson’s as having evolved to a place where he thinks of it as a gift but it was quite a journey to get there. One of the things that drew me to my character was that journey.” She was also keen to work with Jake again following their film ‘Brokeback Mountain’. She added to BANG Showbiz: “I guess I really believed the love on the page and since I’ve worked with Jake on ‘Brokeback Mountain’ I believed we could get their again.”

Hathaway Would Gain Weight For Part
Anne Hathaway would gladly gain weight for a role. The 28-year-old actress – who plays young Parkinson’s Disease sufferer Maggie Murdock in ‘Love & Other Drugs’ – did lose weight for her part because she heard the effects of the medication causes people to, but would have bulked up if the role had called for it. She told BANG Showbiz: “When it came time to decide how the character would look I did a lot of research into the side-effects Parkinson’s medication would have on the human body and I actually found that in the majority of the cases it would cause people to lose weight so that was kind of the jumping off point for how she would look in the film. But it wasn’t resting on that – had the medication caused people to gain weight I would have gained weight and still done the nudity.” The Oscar-nominated star believes nudity was an essential part of the film because it helped her and co-star Jake Gyllenhaal explore “intimacy”. She added: “I thought the nudity was an essential part of the story and the intimacy Jake and I can feel together and how the relationship shifts from sex into love. I think the film is a really wonderful exploration of intimacy in a relationship.”

Alien Prequel Wants Franco and Hathaway?
There is a growing list of names being associated with Ridley Scott’s upcoming Untitled Alien Prequel, and the latest actors being added to that casting wish list are James Franco and Anne Hathaway. Bloody Disgusting has revealed that both actors are interested in the sci-fi horror prequel, but who they will play is not clear at the moment. This news comes hot on the heels of another report from last week that claimed Natalie Portman is gearing up to take the lead in the Untitled Alien Prequel, playing a female Marine general. We’re also still hearing that Ridley Scott really wants to cast Noomi Rapace in the same role. Lost‘s Damon Lindelof has written a new draft of the Untitled Alien Prequel screenplay that 20th Century Fox is extremely excited about. It is unclear at the moment how Ridley Scott feels about this particular version of the story, though. As it is geared towards a PG-13 rating, and Scott has made it clear that he wants his movie to be a hard R. Fox is moving fast to get the Untitled Alien Prequel before cameras, with or without Scott’s involvement. Official casting announcements are expected soon.
