Hathaway laughs off drenching by fashion icon Valentino. Actress Anne Hathaway once again proved she can handle anything anyone can throw at her. Literally. The 27-year-old actress, who elegantly managed the fallout from the scandal that erupted when her boyfriend Raffaello Follieri was revealed to be a conman, showed extraordinary aplomb last week when the Italian designer Valentino spilt a glass of red wine all over the white dress she was wearing. Hathaway, who like other celebrities at the party (Madonna and Gwyneth who both, wisely it turns out, wore black) had borrowed the one-shoulder short sheath dress for the event, said the upside to the accident was the she gets to keep the dress. “The first thing I told him was, ‘ You’re not getting it back’,’’ laughed the actress. “I thought about the best fashion advice my grandmother ever gave me, which was ‘Start a trend’. So I’ve decided I’m starting the trend of getting red wine spilled all over you by an international fashion icon.”
