I am very disappointed that Anne Hathaway has switched religions because it does not blend in with her current views. Perhaps this is a good thing for her and her family.

You either believe and work within that institution to enlighten and be a positive force or you leave. It is good that she supports her brother and she has found a religion that agrees with her beliefs.

I too was in a similar situation. I certainly am supportive of other views, but, nobody would influence me to change what I truly believe, nor my family.

As they say, you cannot reject what you truly have not accepted.
