Oscar Presenters Announced

Last year’s Academy Award acting winners Helen Mirren, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson and Alan Arkin will be put to work this February 24 Oscar night – as presenters. So are Jessica Alba, Patrick Dempsey, George Clooney, Miley Cyrus, Katherine Heigl and Nicole Kidman, according to Academy president Sid Ganis and Oscar telecast producer Gil Cates, now that the big show is back underway. Cate Blanchett, Josh Brolin, Steve Carell, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Colin Farrell, Harrison Ford, Jennifer Garner, Tom Hanks, Anne Hathaway, Jonah Hill, Dwayne Johnson, James McAvoy, Queen Latifah, Seth Rogen, Martin Scorsese, Hilary Swank, John Travolta, Denzel Washington and Renée Zellwegger are also due to stand as presenters at the Kodak Theatre podium during the course of the ceremony.In terms of the nominated Best Songs, entertainment, Amy Adams will sing “Happy Working Song,” while Kristin Chenoweth and Marlon Saunders will perform “That’s How You Know,” both from Enchanted – as is “So Close,” to be sung by Jon McLaughlin. Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova will deliver their “Falling Slowly,” from Once, and Jamia Simone Nash and the IMPACT Repertory Theatre of Harlem, headed by Jamal Joseph, will do “Raise It Up,” from August Rush. The 80th Annual Academy Awards will be telecast on ABC.
