10/04 Carrel calls ‘Get Smart 2′ script ‘funny’
Steve Carell has said that the sequel to Get Smart “ups the ante”. Speaking to MTV, the 47-year-old said that he enjoyed reading the script for the follow up to the 2008 comedy. “[The sequel] switches things up a little bit this time around. It definitely ups the ante,” he said. “The script, it’s funny and it’s a good plot, I like it.” The Office star said he did not know when production would begin on Get Smart 2. “That’s still somewhere out there, I’m not sure when that’s going to come down,” he said.
07/04 Hathaway: ‘I thought I’d be a waitress’
Anne Hathaway has admitted that she didn’t expect to end up being a professional actress. The Alice in Wonderland star has revealed that she imagined a life of restaurant work and debt ahead of her when she was younger. Speaking to Look, the 27-year-old said: “I thought I was going to be waitressing and have tons of student loans. I’m thrilled. “Right now, I just feel like I’m in a glorified acting programme. I get to learn drama from Meryl Streep, then I get to run around and learn comedy from Steve Carell. It’s kind of insane. “Acting really, really is the only thing I’m interested in doing. Even if I was acting in a church basement theatre for the rest of my life, I would still enjoy it.”

Anne Hathaway says her success is down to luck. The actress admits she has often found herself out of her depth when working with big Hollywood names “I owe so much of my career to luck,” Anne said. “My mother always told me that luck is preparation meets opportunity and I’ve been given extraordinary opportunities to work with filmmakers long before I was talented enough and deserved to work with them. “I’ve learned a lot from them. I just keep getting hired. I consider myself lucky and I don’t know who is responsible for it.”

She’s such a delight and a wonderful girl.”

20/03 Hathaway ‘receiving letters from jailed conman ex’
Anne Hathaway has reportedly been receiving letters from her jailed ex-fiance, conman Raffaello Follieri, begging the actress to “wait” for him so they can reunite when he is released from prison. The Italian businessman was sentenced to four-and-a-half years behind bars in December 2008 after pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering. The Devil Wears Prada actress dumped Follieri in June 2008, shortly before he was arrested by federal authorities and admitted to scamming more than $3.6 million (£2.25 million) from investment and real estate firms. The star has since embarked on a relationship with actor Adam Shulman – but Follieri has been finding it hard to move on, and regularly writes to Hathaway begging for a second chance, according to Britain’s Sunday Express. A source tells the publication, “Anne fears anything she says to him will lead to a fresh avalanche of mail. The letters are not only torturing Anne, they are putting pressure on her new relationship.”
