Quoting Annie
“I gave up my struggle with perfection a long time ago. That is a concept I don't find very interesting anymore. Everyone just wants to look good in the photographs. I think that is where some of the pressure comes from. Be happy. Be yourself, the day is about a lot more.”

Hathaway Pushes Barack Obama On Same Sex Marriage
Anne Hathaway has signed an open letter to President Barack Obama, urging him to change his stance on same-sex marriage. Anne Hathaway, the American actress and star of “Love and Other Drugs” has signed a letter that was posted to President Obama on Monday (March 14), appealing for him to be more supportive towards gay marriage, reports Yahoo News. Hathaway signed the letter along with the television host Ellen Degeneres, Glee comedian and actress Jane Lynch and several others high profile stars. Obama has recently spoken about his ‘evolving’ opinion on gay marriage and celebrities such as Martin Sheen, Mya and DeGeneres’ partner Portia De Rossi have already noted that the President could be more supportive of the gay rights movement. The latest letter, titled ‘Say I Do, Mr President’, is part of a campaign by the marriage equality group ‘Freedom to Marry’ and reads, “In February, you made a powerful statement about the law. We ask you now for your leadership on ending the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage – an exclusion that harms millions of Americans each day. Whether to end discrimination in marriage is a question America has faced before, and faces again today”. The letter then urges to Obama to “end exclusion from marriage” and adds, “We ask you to complete your journey and join us, and the majority of Americans, who support the freedom to marry”.

Hathaway To Play Good Catwoman?
Anne Hathaway will play a good Catwoman in the forthcoming Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises”. Plot details surrounding the Christopher Nolan-directed film have been leaked online, confirming Batman – played by Christian Bale – will team up with Catwoman at the end of the movie to battle the evil League of Shadows. A source told news website Badass Digest: “I can’t tell you what role she has in the beginning, but by the end of the story Catwoman isn’t a villain but rather an ally of Batman.” Tom Hardy, who is set to play villainous Bane in the film, will work as a protector of the League’s leader Talia al Ghul. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will also star as part of the organisation.

Academy Agrees Franco And Hathaway Were A Poor Choice
The selection of James Franco and Anne Hathaway to host this year’s Oscars telecast was a mistake, a high-ranking member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has acknowledged. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the member, who asked not to be identified, said, “A lot of us said Franco, who is a good actor, is the wrong guy when it was announced. … We questioned the TV value of both hosts, and it turned out to be right.” The member also complained about allowing the show’s producers to select the hosts, without any input from the Academy’s board of governors. But Academy President Tom Sherak disagreed, saying “When you hire producers, you have to have confidence they are going to put on the show you are looking for.” Yet Sherak himself voiced discontent with the performance of the two hosts, remarking that “the chemistry seemed to be off” between them and adding “The problem is, in the past when you have a comic, that comic can play off what happens on the show. … I think that was missing. I think they were doing their job. Franco is a very charming guy, but sometimes you need a comic to make fun of things.”

Hathaway’s Oscars Afterparty Woes
Anne Hathaway was refused entry to an Oscars afterparty on Sunday night (February 27) – just minutes after she undertook presenting duties at the ceremony. The actress co-hosted the 2011 Academy Awards with James Franco, and after the show ended, the beauty headed straight to the VIP Governors Ball in Los Angeles to celebrate. But the strict doormen failed to recognise her after she forgot her invite, and she was forced to go to the venue’s ‘resolution desk’ to gain entry to the bash, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six. A source tells the publication, “Anne couldn’t find her ticket. She was the Oscar host, and they still wouldn’t let her in. She was fumbling for her ticket, but security told her to step to the ‘resolution desk,’ where she had to explain who she was. Finally, they let her through.”

Anne Hathaway’s Oscar Joy
Anne Hathaway found hosting the Oscars “pure joy from beginning to end”. Although her performance with co-host James Franco at last night’s (February 27) Academy Awards was blasted, the “Love & Other Drugs” actress revealed she loved the experience of working with him at the Hollywood bash. She told chat show host Oprah Winfrey: “I had a blast. I kept waiting to become nervous. Everyone kept asking me, ‘Are you nervous?’The whole ride from beginning to end was joy, pure joy.” She added it was “fun to play off [James] with our two different energies.” While James did not appear on the talk show with Anne – citing a need to return to his university studies at Yale and NYU – Oprah praised the actress saying the “stars aligned” for her. Oprah told Anne: “You were great. I think all the stars aligned for you in that moment last night,” said Oprah. “It was like a big bang moment for your life and career.” Despite Oprah’s enthusiasm, not everyone was impressed, with BBC reporter Ben Sutherland blasting Anne and James for their lack of chemistry. He said: “The pair failed to find the chemistry that would lead to their partnership being remembered as a success – or indeed to be remembered at all. “At the heart of the problem was the lack of spark between the two. He came across as disinterested and she appeared to be over-excited.”
